Position Overview: P3 Veterinary Partners is seeking an experienced Director of Operations to join our innovative team in a full-time capacity. The Director of Operations will take on significant responsibility in the processes and practices that make our hospitals welcoming, profitable, energizing, and rewarding places to work. The successful candidate will serve as a steady, balanced resource focused on:

Strategic support to P3 Home Office and ROMs with respect to:

  • Team and Professional development
  • Revenue growth and cost management, particularly in the area of labour and COS
  • Client Care, Patient Care and Compliance
  • KPI management, Best Practices and Operational SOPs
  • Conflict Resolution
  • Accreditation, Certification and other Medical SOPs 

Participation in P3’s:

  • Business strategy development and championing its implementation 
  • Hospital marketing support
  • Annual business planning, monthly analysis and reporting, and operationalizing areas for improvement
  • Transaction due diligence and hospital onboarding
  • Other as needed from time to time


Qualifications & Experience:

  • College or university degree in business, animal/veterinary science, healthcare administration, hospital management, human resources, accounting or marketing (BSc, BComm, CPA) preferred. MBA an asset.
  • 10 years or more of experience in multi-facility operations with budget management and direct profit and loss responsibility
  • Proven team-oriented communicator with experience in effectively leading people preferred
  • Knowledge of veterinary practice management software, such as AVImark, preferred
  • Certified Veterinary Practice Management designation an asset
  • In-depth understanding of HR and proven experience leading and innovating practices to create and develop an optimal workforce in support of its strategic priorities and objectives
  • Experience leading and supporting significant growth
  • A vision to foster an inclusive, employee-centric culture.
  • Extensive experience in developing strategic and multi-year business plans, resource forecasts, and in managing operational budgets
  • Experience coaching and advising
  • Proven ability to build and nurture relationships at all levels
  • Ability to negotiate, influence and communicate in a clear and effective manner
  • Proven experience implementing sustainable solutions and creating impact
  • An approach that is progressive, strategic, humble, and achievement oriented
  • Experience fostering teamwork, collaboration and managing peer-to-peer and intra-group coaching
  • Supporting individual team members in their growth through professional development and evaluate continuing education goals
  • Liasing with P3’s Medical Advisory Board, university professors, college instructors, industry program providers and individual instructors to develop and coordinate courses
  • Driving Performance-based Leadership and Q4 leadership within the entire P3 organization
